_______Today is Wednesday October 7th. I went to early vote at  the clerk's office at city hall. There were 7 pollworkers helping people vote. I was directed to table 2, where an older black lady asked for my ID. When I said no, she said, "If you dont have ID, you can't vote." I responded I can't vote? Gee I really wanted to vote today._She repeated that if didn't have ID, I couldn't vote. I began to leave. A reasonable person at  this point would have left. It is my position that the voting rights violation was final at  this point. That it was later corrected when I stood my ground and kept inquiring further, does not change the facts that my voting rights were violated. A professional looking younger white woman got involved and offered me a provisional ballot.  I said that I wanted to hear that from her, indicating the first woman, who was still being adamant that I needed ID to vote. I suggested they get on the same page. I declined the offer of a provisional ballot. So while the violation was promptly cured once I became more insistent, a more reasonable person would have left, which tells me that the voting rights violation was complete. This reaction to my decision not to display ID, as is my right, is what I expected. I encounter this half the time. I will check my camera roll, but I'm guessing the incident did not record on my laptop camera. Well, no audio, and the video is obscured. It can document that I was there but not what happened. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
