Missing Voter Registration Forms Are Causing Chaos in North Carolina

The Washington Post reports that thousands of voters in North Carolina attempted to cast a ballot today—only to be told that their voter registration form was "missing." The problem appears to be occurring throughout the state, and affects voters who attempted to register through the DMV. Poll workers are supposed to give these voters a provisional ballot. But it seems many poll workers are unaware of this fact, and some are simply turning allegedly unregistered voters away.

North Carolina is at the epicenter of America's voter suppression crisis. It's not yet clear whether these missing registration forms are an innocent (though still deeply troubling) mistake or the result of something more sinister
