Crescat has a post on a bill to eliminate secret ballots in union elections.
The Teamster's local I was once a member of had a history of being controlled by organized crime, and the Teamsters were implicated in election fraud and campaign finance abuses under Kennedy and Clinton, so taking away the secret ballot is a pretty serious pro-corruption measure. As Bobby Kennedy wrote about in The Enemy Within, the interests of the rank and file don't always coincide with the interests of the leadership. link to follow.
