Marc Emery, a leader of the Canadian Marijuana Party and friend of mine, was arrested in Halifax on US charges of selling pot seeds via mail order. If extradited, he could face many years in jail. Canadian law is relatively lenient about such maters. Emery, publisher of pot-tv.com and cannabis culture magazine, never travels to the US, fearing arrest. He is now being held as a political prisoner at the request of the DEA. Economists estimate Emery's customers have added 6 billion to the Canadian economy.
