Rough notes for a future rejected slashdot posting:

The Federal Election Commission in April put out a call for comments on internet rulemaking in response to a federal judge's order in Shays-Meehan. The suit was brought by some of the "reform" congressmen behind McCain-Feingold, who were concerned the FEC wasn't doing enough to censor online political speech by the rich.
Over 800 comments were received and are online "here." The tone is "hands off the internet!" While the official deadline passed June 3, late comments can still be received at [@?] internet@fec.gov at least through June. Redstate.org has been covering the story. This article is a dupe; so is McCain.
