More fallout from that Illinois judicial race advertizing controversy.
The Democatic judge who lost the state supreme court race has lost a demafation suit
against a group which put out a critical flier. Unfortunately, the group did not countersue for the attempted interference with their free speech rights.

Maag is from Glen Carbon, a nice little suburban town east of St. Louis that I know pretty well. Not only did he lose his race for the supreme court, he was not retained for his lower court seat - a very rare situation. The opposition to Maag stems from a perception that his area is prone to runaway jury awards in class action cases, and millions were spent opposing him.
