As expected, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels signed the unconstitutional voter ID bill, violating his oath of office.
Update: the ICLU has filed suit for the NAACP and several other groups. Story.
Named in the suit
Plaintiffs named in the suit are Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis, Indiana Coalition for Housing and Homeless Issues, Indianapolis Resource Center for Independent Living, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, United Senior Action of Indiana, state Rep. William Crawford and Washington Township board member Joseph Simpson. The only defendant is the Marion County Election Board.

unfortunately, I can't find the suit online. I'm concerned that the suit fails to raise the warrantless search issue and the free and open elections issue.

aneal at inpolicy.org the act.

The good thing about the bill is that it makes voting licenses free, for those who can get them, eliminating a $4 charge. But that won't help those who can't get one.
